WORKING CONDITION: Excellent. This guitar is set up very well with low action and no fret buzz. The guitar was bought by a collector who rarely played it and kept it in the case, so it is essentially new. There are no working issues with this instrument - it is stunning.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Excellent. The headstock has a teeny ding on the very tip of the binding, not noticeable unless under close inspection. The pickup covers have some fingerprints that would likely buff out with some metal polish, but the frets, finish, body, and hardware are otherwise in shiny new condition, with no noticeable blemishes. A real case queen!

Included in this listing is a letter from the original owner who ordered this guitar new from Dean, the story as he tells it:

"2002 Dean time capsule U.S.A. Cadillac 3. Hand signed by Dean Zelinski himself. Collectors condition. It has only the 2nd set of strings ever installed on it. I am the original owner. All original condition. No breaks, repairs or mods. It has a small chip on one headstock tip put there by the guys in the dean camp at the Nashville namm show and the pickup covers gold plating has some wear as does the input jack plate. For reasons I can’t explain, (maybe the Tennessee humidity) the covers and jackplate wanted to tarnish though they never left my smoke, pet free home or seldom it’s case. I played this guitar very seldom. Never gigged. Never recorded with. I bought it to collect. Other than the above stated issues, there’s not a scratch on it. It’s like new. Maybe a slight amount of gold gone where your hand contacts the tone pros bridge. Pickups are dimarzios. Paf neck, super2 middle, super distortion bridge.The back story.

I ordered this thru Jerry @ rock block guitars in Nashville in 2001. I got a call a year later and Jerry told me Dean himself was bringing the first 12 Cadillacs to the namm show and for me to come on Sunday to get mine and meet Dean. Now, if you research these fine guitars, you will find they were offered in 2 colors: Brazilian and trans amber. I ordered the amber. Upon my arrival, I see 1 caddy in front in Cherryburst. It was STUNNING! The show was over and Dean said pick whichever amber I wanted. I did, but commented how if I’d known, I’d ordered cherryburst. He said he made #1 in cherryburst for himself to keep and had enough paint mixed to do another and numbered it #2. It wasn’t spoken for and mine if I wanted it. This makes this guitar double rare. It’s #002, and in a color not in the catalog"
