WORKING CONDITION: Excellent-  This is a great-sounding amp, with all features working nicely and as intended. The simple controls operate cleanly and easily and get you right into the zone without any fuss. 

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Very Good- Earthy and vibey, southwestern front porch vibes. What a soulful-looking amp! Made entirely from old-growth reclaimed pine, featuring a vintage Navajo blanket for the grill cloth, it looks warm and aged. The bottom back panel has a large chip in it from where it simply broke off where the side screw tensions down. The amp was taken to the builder for repair, and he advised not to replace or repair it, being old pine that is no longer available and better to keep authentic and original. With that, the chip only adds to the aged patina. A new hole was drilled to secure the panel. See pics.

The original Celestion speaker that came with this amp had a defect in it, so the owner replaced it with a NOS Eminence Alnico magnet 8-ohm 35-watt #10601 speaker made in the USA for Mojo Musical Supply in the 1990’s when a guy named Nate Kramer owned it, and is the OEM version of the popular Eminence Legend 1028K speaker no longer made. Features an all-paper vintage-style seamed cone and 6-ounce alnico magnet. (Note that this speaker has a Jensen Sticker on the magnet, put on for the fun of it by the previous owner)

He preferred the sound of the Eminence over the Celestion as it gave it a more 70's Stones vibe.

This amp cabinet was built with reclaimed pine and does not have a perfect surface. There are dents, small holes, and wear created by the builder for an artistic, hand-finished look.

The Black Hawk is a limited edition version of a Crazy Horse with all the bells and whistles. The builder created a smaller cabinet than the Crazy Horse for easy transportation.

“I wanted to distill the greatness of a vintage Fender Tweed Deluxe, a 4x10 Bassman and maybe a 40- to 50-watt Marshall into a combo that cuts all the proverbial fat,” he says. “I love the clean tones of Tweed and Blackface-era amps, but they don’t always have enough teeth or aggression.
