WORKING CONDITION: Good. This amp sounds great at all volumes but is especially potent when the volume and tone are both on maximum. The Tremolo circuit is really smooth and speeds range from medium slow to fast but the circuit does not exhibit any super choppy "helicopter" artifacts. This is very close to a black panel Fender tremolo. Only the Low inputs of each channel connect to the circuit - the High channels are disconnected. In practice, it seems the Low channels are actually proper to get the searing tone for which these amps are known.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Very Good. The tolex is in good shape with only a few nicks and scuffs. The grill cloth is fine, and the original, raised Airline logo is intact. There is some light pitting of the metal on the faceplate that is merely cosmetic and does not affect the amp's performance. The cabinet and speaker baffle are solid and do not exhibit any stray rattles or buzzes, even at maximum volume. Readily available EL84 (6BQ5) power tubes were retrofitted in place of the obsolete original 6973 power tubes. Both are nine-pin valves, so no chassis modification was needed.
