WORKING CONDITION: Excellent. This Deluxe sounds amazing, sporting beautiful clean tones from 1-3 on both volumes and gets increasingly aggressive above 4. All three inputs work well and are voiced slightly differently, by design. All five tubes are robust, and the speaker has a wide range of tones.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Fair. The tweed was removed, leaving the beautifully relic'd pine cabinet on display. There is a fair amount of red sharpie marking on the control panel, but this is purely cosmetic and does not affect performance. The handle is on its last leg and should be replaced for safety in portability, but the Utah speaker, chassis, and cabinet are all solid.

The Fender Tweed Deluxe 5D3 is a rare, transitional "Wide Panel" amplifier produced between 1954 and 1955. It is historically significant as the first Deluxe model to move away from octal preamp tubes in favor of the now-standard 9-pin miniature tubes (12AY7 and 12AX7).
