PHYSICAL CONDITION: Very Good.  The wiring indicates that these were previously installed but the pickups don't show any wear. Very clean.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for an EMG JR Jim Root "Daemonum" Active Humbucking Pickups w/ Wiring Harness. Jim Root, a long-time user of the EMG 81/60 combo, began the process of developing a signature set well over three years ago. After trying various prototypes Root was inspired by a set of modified Retro Active pickups to tailor his tone. He settled on a set that gave him everything he loved from the 81/60 with the added benefits and versatility of the Retro Active design.

Unlike traditional open coil pickups, both the bridge and neck pickup utilize stud poles. The fingerboard pickup uses ceramic studs giving it a clean high-end percussive tone. The bridge pickup has black steel poles and features a ceramic magnet, similar to the EMG 81. Both pickups feature custom Retro Active preamps exclusive to the Root set.

SPECS:

• Hybrid Design: These are active pickups that utilize a passive-style open-coil design paired with custom Retro Active preamps. This results in a tone that is less compressed and more dynamic than traditional EMGs, offering the warmth of a passive pickup with the bite and low noise of an active one.
• Bridge Pickup: Features black steel poles and a ceramic magnet similar to the EMG 81. It is voiced for aggressive, overdriven tones and "brutal riffing". THIS PICKUP IS "F SPACED" FOR USE IN FENDER GUITARS
• Neck Pickup: Uses ceramic studs to produce a clean, percussive tone with "crystalline highs," making it effective for both lead work and clean passages.
• Optimized for Drop Tunings: Users note that these pickups handle lower tunings (like Drop B and A) better than the 81/60 set, providing greater clarity and a "fatter" sound without becoming muddy.
