PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a complete set of custom-made premium JFL Audio / Lucas /Frank Lacy Studio Cue Headphone Mixer Systems built for producer Dennis Herring. It might not get any better than this! 

These units were first designed to be self-powered, but craving more power and volume for their headphones for live recording, Dennis requested the ability to power these from separate power amps. So Frank upgraded them with the ability to connect power amps to them to have more power and volume. Dennis was using the Hafler P1500 power amps with these boxes. Thes boxes with IEC connectors can self-power or take power from a separate external amp! Cool! 

Frank Lacy, an electrical engineer and tech from Mississippi, was renowned in the recording industry for his custom-built recording gear. He worked closely with notable producers such as Terry Manning and Dennis Herring, designing and building one-of-a-kind gear under the names Lucas (named after Manning's son) and JFL Audio. Lacy's expertise was in upgrading classic and highly coveted models, such as Pultec, Universal Audio, SSL, and Quad Eight, and even creating unique designs based on specific requests from his clients.

Lacy's boutique electronics were highly sought after by recording engineers and studios, but only a select few, like Manning and Herring, had the opportunity to acquire them. Despite his considerable talent, Lacy produced a limited number of custom electronics that ended up becoming an integral part of shaping the sound of numerous albums.

Now, a treasure trove of Frank Lacy gear owned by Dennis Herring is available for purchase, providing a rare opportunity for audio enthusiasts to acquire this highly coveted "Unobtainium" before it disappears back into studios worldwide.
